By lunch, the barkada gets to meet in suburban Mandaluyong at the MegaMall, the third largest mall in the world when it was completed in June 1991.
MegaMall is a multi-storey 550 meter long structure which draws 300,000 people per weekday and 1.2 million people per day on weekends. It is ranked the sixth largest shopping mall in the world based on gross Leasable Space. Click photo for complete ranking
Happy Birthday Jojo! We all had a great time at Dad's Restaurant Finally, nag-Get-together ang barkada : Aris, Robert, me and Jojo.
Marvin and Kuya Omie also arrive for the celebrations. We all catch a ride on the MRT or MetroRail Transit to Gateway Mall, the newest and trendiest mall in town.
This is an evening photo of the MRT monorail speeding past vehicles along EDSA, the busy main thoroughfare in Metro Manila. What might be an hour's commute in rush hour traffic, we arrive at our destination in 15 minutes.

LRTA Line-1 (Baclaran to Monumento) ferried 76,809,417 passengers in 2005 while LRTA Line-2's (Santolan, Pasig to Recto) had 30,214,022 passengers in the same year. The MRT line, the line we are riding is used by 400,000 commuters daily or an astonishing 128,706,000 passengers that year! This is projected to increase by 40% with the planned extension of the MRT to Caloocan and subsequent connection to LRT-1.

Gateway Mall is located in the revitalized Cubao in Quezon City. It is the only mall in the world which is accesible to two monorail systems. The mall comprises five levels of the finest in shopping, dining and entertainment.

Gateway Mall boasts of multiple anchors, plus the flagship stores of leading world-class brands. Shoppers have a wide range of options, with more than 200 shops supported by five-star customer service to make shopping convenient and enjoyable.
We meets another friend Rey at Mandarin Hotel's Oasis with its spectacular Floating Garden located in the middle of bustling Cubao. Shoppers are encouraged to take a break at the country's first and only airconditioned floating garden open to the sky.

Surrounded by a sea of exotic foliage and towering 60-foot Royal Palms. The Oasis combines nature with what comes naturally : shopping and having fun to create a modern-day refuge

It is a favorite site for news conferences and press presentations for artists and national pageants
After coffee, we walked around Gateway Mall and found a state-of-the-art Cineplex. 10 luxuriously appointed movie theaters with Dolby Digital EX UltraSound, full stadium seating and a one-of-a-kind cinema lobby skylight. Gateway Cineplex 10 also uniquely features a breathtaking 360-degree mural and the country's first La-Z-Boy theater, the Globe Platinum Cinema.

Gateway patrons can choose from a wide variety of food and beverage outlets, ranging from quick snacks at the Food Express to casual dining restaurants at The Gourmet Tower.
