My friends pick me up at Kawit as we head off to Maragondon

Of 17th century vintage, the Maragondon Catholic Church, which is a national cultural treasure, was built by the Dominican friars.

It has a large convent made of different antique woods and bricks. The wooden altar, pulpit and main portal are finely crafted.

After mass, we made a hike to one of the town's hanging bridges!

We proceeded to St. Anne's Shrine in Barangay Sungay where where a grotto of the Virgin Mary stands.

Recently, the city has seen the rise of many congregational houses and retreat centers.

Religious groups find Tagaytay conducive to spiritual meditation, owing to the serenity of the surroundings.

Because Tagaytay City is so conducive to spiritual meditation, it is being touted for being a center of "Spiritual Retreat."

The barkada heads back home after a wonderful day of sight-seeing and spiritual enrichment.
